As mentioned yesterday, as part of the Beijing Olympics closing ceremony, the Olympic flag will be handed to London as the next host city, for the 2012 Olympics.  As part of the celebrations to mark this evnt the Olympic flag will be raised at locations around Great Britain.

One of those locations will be Cheshunt (Cheshunt is a town in the Borough of Broxbourne) being a venue for the 2012 Olympic Games when the White Water Canoe and Kayak slaloms will be held in the proposed new Broxbourne White Water Canoe Centre.  The flag raising will take place at Cheshunt Park Golf Course on Sunday 24th August at 2:15pm.  The event will be attended by Lloyd Upsdell, a double gold medal winner for Great Britain at the Sydney Paralympics in 2000.

The White Water Canoe Centre has been designed by architects FaulknerBrowns, who have a great deal of experience in the design of sports venues.

The following images have been provided by the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) and are the architects impressions of the finished building and the layout of the proposed Olympic slalom course.
