As previously blogged, on Sunday 24th August, as the Beijing Olympics came to an end and the Olympic flag was passed in the closing ceremony to Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, at venues around the UK the Olympic team GB flag was raised.

We were at the Cheshunt ceremony, where the Mayor of Broxbourne, joined by paralympic double Gold medal winnerLloyd Upsdell raised the flag.

Both the Mayor, Mrs Carol Crump-Eynon as well as Lloyd gave a short speech about Broxbourne being a venue for the White Water slalom for canoe and kayak events.
