Tickets have again today gone back on sale, however this time they will be on a first come first-served basis. There is not tickets for every sports or venue left however Volleyball, weightlifting and football are some of the sports left with available tickets, I would not wait around as it is first come first-served basis, and the over 2 million people have already visited the website sense 0600 Friday when the tickets went on sale.

Ryan Westley and Bethan Latham two of teams GBs most talented juniors opened the international season of with a bang bringing home two medals, one being Ryans in the c1 mens and the other Bethan K1 womens. This is a great start to the season and hopefully a sign of things to come for Team GB with the 2012 London Olympics next year Team GB canoe slalom team will step up to the plate and show of at the brand new Lee Valley White Water Centre that has been recently opened to the public.

On Sunday 22nd may I had my interview to become a games maker, I was interviews to be part of the canoe team which is for both the Canoe Slalom and Flat Water Racing at the interview we was asked which area we would be best suited and what we would ideally like to do. Before you go through to have your interview there is host which come round looking for people and asking about there skills and what they can bring to the event. This is a good time to treat it like a interview tell them all your qualifications the more you tell the more it may sink in well that how I feel anyway.

The interview is not that bad it is very much read from a book to you (the interviewer is also a volunteer) just bare that in mind if you feel nerves . You don’t find out until late 2011 around October time onwards whether you ave what it take to become a games maker.

After the long and hard bank holiday weekend the Head coaches within Team GB have selected there team and these have been finalized and published.

Paddlers headed for London not for the royal Wedding but to get on the water at the brand new Lee Valley White Water Centre based in Waltham cross - Broxbourne.

The event was a great sucess with 5,000 members of the general public turing up to watch these athletics fight it out for a place on the team.

Local club HYMCOPS was asked to come alone and run a go paddling season on the lake which was intended to get the public interested in the sport and they had a very busy time catering for all ages even as young as four.

However the club was then asked if they could provide the water safety team. The Slalom course safety team had a mainly quiet weekend apart from Sunday when the strong wind conditions and a demanding course, and some careless gate judges provided them some activity.

The Club also got to try out the brand new Team GB C1 and C2 boats which makes a chance to the ones they are currently paddling. Members of the public were impressed with the New Lee Valley venue and it has been decided that test events should be open to the public rather than behind closed doors, so keep your eyes open for more information over the coming months.

The competition to place over the 3 day bank holiday weekend with racing taking place at the Olympic venue Lee Valley White Water Canoe Centre which has a few busy years to come with the London 2012 Olympics next year as well as the 2015 world championships. Over 5000 members of the general public visited the event which shows the new venue has a real impact on family’s around the area all wanting to be part of the amazing facility. They all got a great view the course and the GB best canoe slalom paddlers.

C2 results were as follows:

First place goes to Medallist David Florence and partner Richard Hounslow (these two had already pre qualified for international season however they still raced to take first place in three races over the course of the weekend).

Second Place went to Rhys Davies and Matt Lister

And third to Adam Burgess and Greg Pitt.

In the C1 category the results were as follows:

Taking first place was David Florence, he struggled through round one but dominated the 2 other rounds over the weekend.

Coming in a close second was Mark Proctor who really proved his position in the Team GB  in the later round on day three.

Daniel Goddard took the third and final place in the team this is a great result for him after changing from C2 to C1 during the winter months.

Women’s K1 results

Laura Blakeman secured her place in the team with a win on day one and coming in second on day two and three.  This will be great for her after missing out in a place in the team last year.

Fiona Pennie a 2008 Olympian came in second overall just missing out on first spot after taking a win and second place.

And the third and final spot going to Lizzie Neave who won a silver medal in the 2009 world championships

A big congratulations needs to go out to Mallory Franklin who joined the senior team last year at the age of 15 and she dominated the women’s c1 group hopefully she will soon be in the team and be able to show her talent around the world.

After a long and tiring weekend for all involved there is nothing left for the paddlers to do they just need to hope they have done enough and proved that they should be part of Team GB. The top coaches in England will be showing intrest in diffrent paddlers and they will finalise the paddlers that they want to be part of team GB canoe Slalom.

The competition spread across the bank holiday including the Monday at the new Lee Valley White Water Canoe Centre. The centre is to be used for the 2012 London Olympics aswell as the world canoe championships in 2015.

The sun is out and the water is flowing thick and fast down the Lee Valley White Water centre  I am there providing water safety for both the public and competitors who are fighting for a place in the GB team and to be in with a chance to be in the London 2012 Olympics

There are 4 pumps running today pumping 18,000l of water per second and the course is proving to be very hard as we have had a few swimmers but what do you expect for the best white water course in the world. I am working on getting some videos and pictures uploaded later, until then have a good day.

The tickets for london 2012 have now closed, People where able to show there interest and buy tickets to events of there choice, however applicants will not find out which tickets they have got until possibly the end of June. The website was said to of crashed at around 22:30 as there was suddenly a massive increase of traffic to the site. it was said by officials that the site had not crashed but had been slowed down by the traffic and that they would extend the deadline until 01:00 however at 01:30 there was reports of people still being able to buy tickets.

There will be another chance to buy tickets from the public on the official London 2012 resale programme in 2012. This will give people the chance to sell tickets they don’t want as well as getting tickets that they maybe of wanted.

Lee Valley White Water Centre has finaly opened its doors to the public on 22nd April 2011 which saw the centre open for the first time to the general public to ride the London 2012 Olympic course in white water raft,we hope that many people enjoy the centre and the rapids it has to offer.

The new venue which is situated in Waltham Cross was originally going to be called the Broxbourne White Water Canoe Centre but Lee Valley wanted to have a name that related it to them and so it was renamed Lee Valley White Water Canoe Centre.

It is the first time that the championships have been in Britain for 20 years and it will be a great chance for canoe slalom members  to continue to strive for a goal of a World Competition medal. It will give all those that are to young to enter the olympics next year a fresh start and a new goal for 2015.

It will also give the chance to gain needed times for the 2016 Olympics in Rio
