as you may all be aware there has really been little content update in the past few month and that is really down to not having the time to chase different story leads up. if your out there and you think you have a story that is relevant to bwwcc then please feel out the form below and i shall review it and if i feel it is good material I will edit it and post it on site

here at bwwcc we love to be user friendly and have post from our views and we also love to be the first to inform our viewers so please help us out and get writing your white water story’s in.

Just to update you on my last post, i have and can confirm that the construction of the new white water canoe centre has been completed and the course is now open for the Olympic athletes to start training on, this will last until Easter next year and then they will be opening to course for the public to use and enjoy before it then closes for the Olympic games.

New Broxbourne white water centre is now open

hey all

I have been told today by a few sources that the new White Water Centre that is finally been built in cheshunt has been opened, I can not confirm this at this time but I will do some further research and I will post a update on this as soon as possible.

Exiting stuff for all those that have registed your intrest with lee vally park about the new white water centre that is be built they now have piroty tickets for you to buy and use the course before the olymic games. so for all of you that have registed check your emails for this on. and if you can get 8 friends together they will even give you 50 pounds worth of free food. this is a great chance to use what will be a Olympic venue in 2012 but you can use it before so when you see it on TV during the games you can say I have paddled that

Match makers volunteering scheme comes to a close

the London 2012 volunteering scheme has now comes to a close with applications now being processed and waiting for the Olympic authority to start selection candidatures for interview. The application stage is a long one with people not finding out until 2012 if they have made it into the games maker team.

Hey there

Worrying developments over the last few days. Following what was initially an anonymous contact though my feedback form which lead to a couple of exchanges of emails and a brief meeting this morning, I was informed of some problems at the new Olympic white water site.

I cant go into details just yet as I need them to come back to me with further information first.

I would love to give you more details but I am stuck between a rock and a hard place until I hear more.

Water flows for the first time

This week testing has started at the Lee Valley White Water Centre The ODA is puting the course though its paces to make shore that it offers a challanging but cappable course that can last for many years to come. This has been a well looked forward event for many people and with sites set on paddling the course before the olympics everyone is very keen to see what the course looks like now. This attraction is going to change the uk slalom in so many ways. There is going to be lots of new people to the sport and a big tourist attraction for those that are really into the sport.

Broxbourne White Water Canoe Centre New Year Update

The construction is well under way and great progress has been made. The works are well on schedule with the piling works finishing before schedule. The foundations of the building are complete. and the new year looks good for the New White Water Centre. with this year being the year that the centre is due to be completed and ready to be open to the public in spring 2011.

last year there was 150,000 cubic metres of soil required to build up the 5.5m start pull walls, and to build the lake. There is now more then 500 piles now ready for the construction of the building this month.

The lake is due to be completed during the summer of 2010. It is planned to be concrete based with concreted sandbags forming the banks and walls.

The 300m Olympic course is also taking shape alone the western side of the centre. the earthworks are due to finish on the Olympic course early this year ready for concreting and the Olympic course is due to be completed in the summer of 2010.

The 160m intermediate course is also on schedule and earthworks are due to finish in the next few months ready for concreting and completion in the summer of 2010.

Broxbourne white water canoe centre on course to open spring 2011

Broxbourne white water canoe centre is on course to be open for public use in spring of 2011. The ground works are well under way and the foundations of the building have been completed. BWWCC will be the only brand new olympic venue to be open to the public before the olympic games in 2012. They have worked to make it not only the most depanding course in the world but the best training base for white water aswell.

Theres a new information site at YHA Lee Valley which is around 20 minite walk away from the site. this is a drop in centre and has loads of information about the new site.
